Steel sheet pile specifications and models

Steel sheet piles are available in various specifications and models with different sizes, shapes and properties to meet the needs of different projects. The following are some common steel sheet pile specifications and models and their characteristics:

Classification by type

1. Cold-formed steel sheet pile

Features: Cold-bent steel strips with various cross-sections, such as Z-shaped, U-shaped, etc. Compared with hot-rolled steel sheet piles, it can save about 10% to 15% of materials and reduce construction costs.

Common specifications: including but not limited to 400 mm × 85 mm × 8 mm, 400 mm × 100 mm × 10.5 mm, etc. Specific specifications need to be selected based on project requirements and design.

Model: Such as WRZ series (WRZ 16-635, WRZ18-635, etc.) and WRU series (WRU7, WRU8, WRU9, etc.). These models represent different heights, widths, thicknesses and cross-sectional areas.

2. Hot rolled steel sheet pile

Features: It is formed by high-temperature rolling in a section steel rolling mill. It has standardized dimensions, superior performance, reasonable cross-section, high quality, tight lock bite, and good water barrier properties.

Common types: U type, Z type, AS type, H type, etc. Among them, Z-shaped and AS-shaped steel sheet piles have relatively complicated production, processing and installation processes, and are mainly used in Europe and the United States; domestically, they are mainly U-shaped steel sheet piles.

Specifications: Since hot-rolled steel sheet piles have various specifications and are affected by manufacturers and engineering needs, specific specifications need to be determined based on actual conditions.

Special types of steel sheet piles

L-shaped steel sheet piles: specifications such as WRZ1.5, WRZ2, WRZ3, etc., have specific cross-sectional shapes and performance characteristics.

Factors to consider when choosing steel sheet piles

1. Project requirements: According to the specific requirements of the project, such as soil retaining, water retaining, foundation pit support, etc., select the appropriate steel sheet pile type and specification.

2. Geological conditions: Consider the geological conditions of the construction site, such as soil hardness, groundwater level, etc., and select steel sheet piles that can be driven into hard soil and have good stability.

3. Economy: On the premise of ensuring project quality and safety, choose lower-cost steel sheet pile types and specifications.

Precautions

  • When selecting steel sheet piles, factors such as their material, strength, and corrosion resistance should be fully considered to ensure project quality and safety.

  • During the construction process, the work should be carried out in strict accordance with the construction specifications and operating procedures to ensure that the driving depth and verticality of the steel sheet piles meet the requirements.

  • After use, steel sheet piles should be properly stored and maintained for reuse.

To sum up, there are various specifications and models of steel sheet piles, and the specific selection needs to be comprehensively considered based on factors such as engineering needs, geological conditions, and economy.
